Pakistan Army has nothing to do with politics: DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar on Monday has clarified that Pakistan Army has nothing to do with politics.

 While talking to a in an interview the DG ISPR said that speculations regarding Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are baseless. There are no backdoor contacts with PDM and those spreading such rumors should also provide proofs, he added. It’s inappropriate to comment on political matters and linking it to the army without any evidence or research. All such hearsay must come to an end now, he stated. Talking about the revelations made by EU DisinfoLab, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that Pakistan has always tried to expose the nefarious plans of India.

Responding to a question, the DG ISPR said that Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara is a national hero and asset. We pray for the safety of all the mountaineers who went missing during their K2 climb, he added. Major General Babar Iftikhar went on to say that all the measures are being taken to find Ali Sadpara and his companions. Pakistan army is busy in fulfilling its duty to ensure the security and protection of the motherland, he said.On the coronavirus pandemic, the DG ISPR noted that the entire world had been affected by coronavirus and that the Pakistani nation fought the pandemic successfully with the help of its healthcare workers. “The Chinese military has donated COVID-19 vaccines to Pakistan Army, which the army has given to Pakistan’s healthcare workers,” he said.
